We’re toasting the July birthday of our Winemaker, Kate Derby, with a new 3-bottle vertical of her favorite (and namesake) wine, Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc, Walla Walla Valley. Cabernet Franc is the most-planted varietal at Spring Valley Vineyard, and according to Kate, the grape and estate are a “match made in heaven”.
2018 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc
This 100% Cabernet Franc comes entirely from the old blocks of Cabernet Franc planted in 1995 and 2001. It has a solid structure, but the tannins are high quality and seamless.

2021 Katherine Corkrum Cabernet Franc
This wine is beautifully structured with great texture. On the nose, this wine offers aromas of lilac and dry herbs, giving a welcoming, rustic scent. The palate is vibrant with notes of red fruit, cassis, and warm strawberry rhubarb pie. The finish is velvety, yet offers bright and beautiful natural acidity.
